Plant Hire Foreman – Banbury, Oxfordshire | £45,000 salary + hands-on leadership + bonus + clear progression

We’re recruiting an experienced Plant Hire Foreman to take ownership of a busy workshop operation in Banbury, Oxfordshire. Key Responsibilities:

This role combines leadership with technical involvement across a varied fleet:

• Supervising and leading a team of Plant Fitters and workshop personnel

• Remaining hands-on with the servicing, repair, and fault-finding of Plant Hire equipment

• Scheduling and overseeing maintenance, servicing, and repair workloads

• Diagnosing complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults

• Ensuring compliance with LOLER, PUWER, and all statutory requirements

• Completing final quality checks and testing before equipment returns to hire

• Managing workshop stock, parts, tools, and consumables

• Maintaining high HSE standards and full PPE compliance

• Monitoring costs, downtime, and workshop efficiency for reporting

What we’re looking for:

We’re looking for a practical leader who enjoys staying close to the tools:

• A strong background in servicing and repairing hire equipment

• Experience supervising workshop teams and daily operations

• Confidence managing compliance, safety standards, and documentation

• An organised approach to workload planning, rotas, and staff development

• The mindset to bridge technical work with leadership, similar to a Service Manager style role
