As an Electromechanical Engineer in Pencoed, you’ll support quality improvement and technical communication across engineering and production teams.
Interpret customer specifications, engineering drawings and electromechanical schematics
Drive improvement initiatives using established Quality Control tools and techniques
Communicate technical quality information clearly with customers and suppliers
Support KPI improvement, including scrap reduction, rework, customer returns and performance
Plan and conduct internal audits, analysing findings and supporting corrective actions
Review non-conformance data and identify recurring issues using specialist quality analysis methods
Assist with developing inspection standards and electromechanical testing criteria
Contribute to maintaining robust Quality Assurance Engineer processes and systems
Work collaboratively as a proactive and engaged member of the engineering team
To succeed as an Electromechanical Engineer, you’ll bring a strong technical mindset and a passion for continuous improvement.
Ability to read and interpret electromechanical drawings, electrical schematics and wiring layouts
Basic understanding of electronic component specifications and tolerances
Strong investigative mindset with the ability to identify root causes of issues
Highly organised with the ability to work effectively to deadlines
Confident using MS Office tools, including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments
Full UK driving licence and valid passport, with willingness to travel occasionally
Desirable experience includes:
Previous experience working in a Quality Assurance Engineer or technical quality-focused role
Experience identifying more efficient ways of working
Familiarity with measurement equipment such as CMMs, micrometers, vernier calipers and height gauges
