Key Responsibilities:
As an Electrical Design Engineer, you’ll play a key role in both the design office and the workshop:
- Design electrical systems, control panels, and layouts using SolidWorks and CAD tools
- Work closely with the production team to support the build, wiring, and assembly of machinery
- Translate design concepts into practical, manufacturable solutions
- Produce and maintain electrical schematics, drawings, and technical documentation
- Assist with hands-on tasks including panel wiring, machine builds, and system modifications
- Support testing, commissioning, and fault-finding on completed systems
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers to ensure seamless integration of systems
- Identify design improvements based on feedback from the shop floor
- Ensure compliance with relevant electrical and safety standards
- Provide ongoing engineering support during production and post-installation
What we’re looking for:
We’re seeking a motivated Electrical Design Engineer with a strong blend of design and hands-on capability:
- Degree, HNC, or HND in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- Strong experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD software
- Background in an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Ability to work both as a design-focused engineer and a hands-on Electrical Engineer
- Strong understanding of control systems and electrical components
- Experience producing and interpreting electrical schematics
- Problem-solving mindset with strong fault-finding skills
- Exposure to bespoke machinery and workshop environments
- Knowledge of PLCs and automation systems
- Panel design and build experience within a Production Engineer or manufacturing setting
