Vehicle Technician – £27.00ph – HGV Licence Essential – Bournemouth, Dorset

Based across the Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole area, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Vehicle Technician to join a professional fleet team responsible for keeping essential front line services moving. You’ll work on a wide range of commercial vehicles & equipment while benefiting from a supportive team environment & ongoing training.

Key Responsibilities

As a Vehicle Technician, in Bournemouth, Dorset you will:

• Carry out servicing, maintenance & repairs on a mixed fleet of commercial vehicles
• Diagnose faults efficiently & complete repairs to a high standard
• Perform safety inspections & vehicle examinations
• Complete preventative maintenance & scheduled servicing
• Accurately record defects, repairs & parts used electronically
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety procedures & Operator Licence requirements
• Support apprentices & assist with training where required
• Work collaboratively to keep the fleet operating safely & efficiently

What we’re looking for

To be successful, you’ll have:

• Previous experience within a busy commercial vehicle workshop
• A valid HGV Licence
• NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Vehicle Maintenance
• Experience maintaining municipal fleets, including refuse collection vehicles, road sweepers, trailers, tractors, vans & light commercial vehicles
• Strong fault-finding & diagnostic skills
• A proactive approach with excellent problem-solving abilities
• The ability to work independently & as part of a team
• Flexibility to work across sites within the Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole area
