Key Responsibilities:
As a Building Engineer, you’ll play a key role in maintaining safe and efficient site operations through:
- Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across the site
- Completing statutory compliance checks and inspections
- Maintaining fire safety equipment including extinguishers, hydrants and hoses
- Testing emergency lighting, RCDs and smoke vents
- Inspecting and maintaining fire doors
- Completing water temperature testing and flushing in line with risk assessments
- Supporting maintenance of security systems including CCTV and alarms
- Recording completed works and remedial tasks using CAFM systems
- Carrying out general building maintenance tasks as required
What we’re looking for:
To be successful in this Building Engineer role, you should have:
- Experience working in a multi-skilled maintenance or facilities environment
- Knowledge of fire safety systems, emergency lighting or compliance testing
- Experience with general building maintenance tasks
- Understanding of water hygiene checks and temperature testing (desirable)
- Experience working with maintenance management systems (CAFM)
- Good IT skills and the ability to complete accurate records
- The ability to pass prison security clearance checks
