We’re looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join a forward-thinking engineering business in Poole. Key Responsibilities

As a Mechanical Engineer, you’ll play a key role in developing innovative products and improving existing designs by:

• Taking products from concept through to manufacture
• Designing and refining mechanical components, brackets and enclosures
• Leading engineering changes to improve performance, reliability and manufacturability
• Supporting prototype builds, testing and product validation
• Carrying out engineering calculations and FEA analysis
• Producing detailed engineering drawings and maintaining SolidWorks PDM data
• Working closely with production, sales and customers to deliver practical engineering solutions
• Ensuring products comply with relevant international standards and regulatory requirements

What we’re looking for

To succeed in this Design Engineer position, you’ll ideally have:

• Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or Product Design
• Minimum five years’ experience in mechanical product design
• Advanced SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM experience
• Strong knowledge of sheet metal, wood, welding and casting design
• Experience with design for manufacture, machining and fabrication
• FEA analysis and engineering calculation experience
• Excellent technical drawing and GD&T knowledge
• Understanding of CE, UKCA, RoHS, REACH and product compliance requirements
• Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills

Experience within professional audio, loudspeaker design, CNC manufacturing, aluminium castings, IP-rated products or ERP systems would be advantageous.
