We are recruiting for an experienced Mobile Forklift Engineer to join an established team in Greater Manchester, covering customer sites across the surrounding area. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled engineer with forklift, materials handling or similar mechanical engineering experience to work on a range of modern forklift equipment, with access to manufacturer training, technical support and experienced colleagues.

As a Mobile Forklift Engineer, you’ll be responsible for carrying out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on customer machinery, ensuring equipment is operating safely and reliably.

Key Responsibilities

As a Mobile Forklift Engineer, you will:

• Travel to customer sites across Greater Manchester and the surrounding areas
• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on forklift trucks
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults
• Use laptop-based diagnostic systems to identify and resolve faults
• Complete planned maintenance, breakdowns and inspections
• Complete chargeable, warranty and internal repairs to a high standard
• Maintain accurate service records and job sheets
• Provide professional technical support and excellent customer service
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company procedures
• Participate in weekend cover and additional hours on a rota

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone with:

• Previous experience as a Forklift Engineer, Plant Fitter, Field Service Engineer, Agricultural Engineer or similar
• Strong mechanical fault-finding skills
• Experience working with hydraulic and electrical systems
• Experience servicing and repairing forklift trucks or similar materials handling equipment
• Good diagnostic and problem-solving abilities
• A proactive approach and the ability to work independently
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• A full UK driving licence
• The ability to manage a busy workload and respond effectively to customer requirements
