Are you an experienced HGV Technician looking for a role that offers true flexibility, a stable fleet environment, and the chance to mentor the next generation of engineers?
We are representing a leading Fleet Management company with two busy, modern workshops in the Rochdale area. Unlike the high-pressure environment of a main dealer, this role offers a diverse workload across a well-maintained fleet, focusing on quality of repair over “clock-watching.”
As a Technician, you will be a key player in the workshop. Your day-to-day will involve:
Complex Diagnostics: Using modern equipment to identify and rectify faults.
Engine Repairs: Carrying out mid-to-heavy engine work and component replacements.
MOT Preparation: Ensuring the fleet meets VOSA standards for first-time passes.
Mentorship: Acting as a lead and supporting one Apprentice through their final year of training-helping to shape the future of the workshop.
Pay: A competitive £20.00 per hour.
Overtime: Paid at 1.5x, providing excellent earning potential.
Flexible Working: The client is open to discussing shift patterns that work for you-perfect for balancing work and home life.
Stability: Working on a dedicated fleet means consistent work and no “upselling” to retail customers.
Qualification: Level 2 NVQ (or equivalent) in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance.
Experience: A proven track record in heavy engine repairs and advanced diagnostics.
Mindset: You’ll be a “safe pair of hands” who takes pride in your work and enjoys sharing your knowledge with junior staff.
