Key Responsibilities

As a Freight Forwarder, you’ll manage end-to-end ocean import activities, ensuring shipments are handled efficiently, compliantly and in line with customer expectations.

• Coordinate ocean import shipments from start to finish, including clearances, quotations and deliveries
• Prepare customs entries, manage job costing and ensure timely invoicing
• Maintain accurate shipment milestones, reports and system updates
• Follow operational procedures, KPIs and strict deadlines
• Build strong working relationships with customers, suppliers and internal teams
• Resolve customer and supplier queries promptly, providing excellent customer service
• Support month-end reporting, compliance and cost control activities
• Assist with rates reviews and customer development initiatives
• Ensure all activities meet relevant customs, health and safety, security and industry regulations

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for an organised and customer-focused professional who understands the demands of international logistics and enjoys working in a deadline-driven environment.

• Previous operational experience within freight forwarding or international logistics
• A strong customer service background and the ability to build lasting relationships
• Knowledge of international transportation across air, sea and road freight
• An understanding of customs procedures, operational compliance and financial processes
• Good IT skills and confidence using business systems and Microsoft Office
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and a proactive approach
• The ability to follow standard operating procedures and meet deadlines
• A flexible approach to working hours, including shifts and weekends when required
• GCSEs or equivalent qualifications
