We are recruiting for a Service Controller to join a well-established forklift company in Nottingham. This is a fantastic opportunity for an organised and proactive individual to join a busy service team, coordinating engineers, customers and service requirements while developing a long-term career within the forklift industry.

As a Service Controller, you’ll play a key role in keeping the service department running efficiently, ensuring engineers are scheduled effectively, breakdowns are dealt with promptly and customers receive a high level of service.

Key Responsibilities

As a Service Controller, you’ll be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day service operation and supporting both engineers and customers.

• Coordinating engineer schedules for planned maintenance, servicing and breakdowns
• Liaising with customers and engineers to ensure jobs are completed efficiently
• Managing forklift breakdowns, repairs and urgent service requests
• Monitoring job progress and keeping customers updated
• Allocating work to engineers based on location, skills and availability
• Maintaining accurate service records, job sheets and system updates
• Arranging parts and liaising with suppliers where required
• Supporting with customer enquiries and general service administration
• Assisting with invoicing and ensuring completed jobs are processed correctly
• Building strong working relationships with customers and engineers

What we’re looking for

To succeed as a Service Controller, you’ll ideally have:

• Previous experience within forklifts, plant, powered access, HGV, agricultural machinery, vehicle servicing or a similar engineering environment
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple jobs at once
• Confident communication skills when dealing with customers and engineers
• A proactive approach and excellent attention to detail
• The ability to work effectively in a busy service environment
• A willingness to learn and develop your knowledge of forklift equipment
